The Praxis Internship provides college students an opportunity to experience pastoral ministry through a ten-week, paid summer internship in a local church. In his second letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul reminded him to "fan into flame the gift of God" (2 Timothy 1:6, NIV). Through a guided experience of action and reflection (Praxis), we help college students explore and discern how God might be calling them into ministry and ‘fan into flame’ their passion to serve God.
Each intern is matched with a mentor pastor who guides them during the summer. Praxis is designed to provide a range of experiences related to pastoral leadership, such as:
|June 1, 2018||Orientation|
|June 3, 2018||First Sunday in local church|
|June 10-13, 2018||Annual Conference (Waco)|
|July 6, 2018||Mid-point check-in|
|August 6, 2018||De-brief and sending forth|
Applications are available in October for the following summer. Prospective interns are encouraged to apply early because we will accept people before the deadline, and space is limited. March 31 is the final deadline for applications. If you have any questions, please contact Kevin Walters (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Amber Massingill (email@example.com).
